Today I am grateful for...
- Exit plans.
- Fidgets.
- Insulated cups and tumblers. And French presses, for that matter.
- My support groups.
- Masks, and the people still wearing them.
Lately I've been having a lot of trouble with these gratitude posts.

Date: 2023-05-26 03:10 am (UTC)Here's something to elicit gratitude. You may like this one, having bosses (meow). Monroe let me clip his claws when Dad held him without scruffing him. He was cuddled closely whilst Dad purred into his side. I cooed at him and clipped the nails perfectly. We may get to the point that he won't need holding. What a good and smart boy! Achilles maintains his own claws, never using them on us.

Date: 2023-05-26 03:49 am (UTC)So far only one member of our immediate household has had a mild case -- most likely picked up in an airport, despite being masked. Fortunately j is probably the healthiest of us all. Emmy has had it twice -- she works as a checker at Safeway. Mild cases. All of us are fully vaccinated.
Yay for trimmed claws! Ticia and Desti have a vet appointment on Tuesday, so I'll get their claws trimmed then. Ticia is the one who needs it the most and tolerates it least.

Date: 2023-05-26 06:04 am (UTC)Airports are festering pools of infections. I often got URIs after flying. Supermarkets are cattle pens with food variety. Zoonoses travel like wildfire in groups like that. Okay, I'll pull my tongue out of my cheek. It's still a germ haven. My guys shop as fast as they can and wear N95s. I have one in my purse, and there's a box of masks in the car. There isn't anything close for walking unless you want to hike one of the trails here. The orchard trails are especially nice. Me, I just walk in the house, with Monroe riding proudly on my walker. I think it's adorable.
Having the vet do it was how we handled Honor's.
